The Backwaters

The Backwaters

Walk along our backwaters for an alternative view of Walton, which is extremely rich in bird life and geology. Pick up a copy of the Walton Wildlife Guide leaflet from the Tourist Information Bureau or the Community Project Shop.

The Naze Tower

The Naze Tower is an historic 86ft landmark and unique visitor attraction situated on an attractive stretch of coastline at Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex. Over eight floors it houses an art gallery with three exhibitions a year, a museum on the Tower and Naze, tea rooms and a roof viewing platform with spectacular panoramic views. The best way to experience the Tower is to visit.

The Naze Tower art gallery is on six floors and features three exhibitions each year. To find out whats on go to Exhibitions. Throughout our season we show and sell work by established and up coming artists from East Anglia working in a range of media including 2d, 3d and crafts. Much of the art is inspired by the local area and coastline and, in some cases, the Tower itself. All the artworks in the gallery are for sale including crafts, unframed and framed artworks from 10 upwards. The small shop in the Tower on the ground floor sells books, gifts, souvenirs and cards.

Walton Market

Thursday Markets

Waltons bustling, traditional, weekly market on the Sunshine Coast offers a friendly welcome and a wide variety of wares throughout the year. All for the right price.

Monday Markets

From April 21st (Easter Monday) there will be a market on Mondays all through the summer. Thats every Monday with the last one now being on the 25th August.

Town Market Extended

Waltons popular market now has the added benefit of being held on selected Saturdays during the summer. 2014 will see the start of a Saturday trial for Walton. If we are all able to support this and make it the success it deserves we could see it extended to every Saturday next year.

Small but good - Review Date 27/7/2014
The market is a nice little place. If you like good local products and friendly staff, this is the place.  Comment by Jamie Thomson

The beaches are just wonderful. It's the best beaches I have been to see. It doesn't matter if the tide is in, if you walk to the right location, their is always a part of the beach that is walkable on without getting wet.  Comment by Jamie Thomson

Hidden gem in Walton - Review Date 20/8/2014
We take all our visitors on Tony's boat trip - any time of day. We've been on this trip 4 times already this year and are planning our 5th this weekend. The water is calm - so if you don't have good sea-legs you should not suffer and as soon as you see the seals, the Arab horses and birdlife - you'll be enthralled. Tony is very knowledgeable and informative. It's a small boat, so if you book and your plans change you should let him know - he always has awaiting list.  Comment by Angela Gostling
